Day 318

Sunday 13th November 2016

I have got into a good routine when it comes to my eating. Things are second nature to me now.

One thing I have really got into the habit of is waiting 5 hours between my meals. I really struggled with it at first, especially not being able to even pop a sweet in my mouth between my meals. Now though it’s not a problem – I just do it automatically.

I do find I rely more on my meal times now a lot more than I ever did last year.  Back then my meals were one continuous snack only stopping when I was asleep!

Last night I was busy painting at an event at church so I had to prepare and take my own dinner with me.

However I didn’t have time to eat it and all I did manage to eat was a handful of almonds.

I didn’t even think about eating until afterwards which was about 10pm. Normally I would have probably gone and got a late night curry or something but as one of the rules for this year is to not eat any later than 9pm I decided to miss dinner completely.

I think last year I would never have ever even considered missing a meal. My thinking back then was I had to eat or I wouldn’t survive, when in reality I didn’t need it.

I would have a meal and pile loads of food on my plate because that was what my head was saying I needed. But the reality is that we actually don’t need the meal sizes that we tend to give ourselves.

Last night though, with only a handful of almonds for dinner, I didn’t feel I needed any more and you know what – I survived!

I didn’t even feel hungry in the morning, but the best part is the scales finally went down.
