Last night I went to the cinema with about 25 other ladies from our church. We went to see a film called Bad Moms.
The film was basically about a group of Mum’s from a school and they just wanted the best for there kids. Some of the Mum’s seemed perfect – they had the perfect lives, perfect kids – they had no worries at all. They seemed to have their lives totally sorted out.
Some other Mums couldn’t seem to do anything right. They would have bad day after bad day.
In the end though they took control of their own lives and made things better. They also found out that the perfect Mum’s weren’t so perfect after all and they had problems just like everyone else.
After the film we went for a drink and we all got talking about things in our own lives. Sometimes you think that you are the only one going through certain things and that no one else would ever understand your situation.
One thing I realised with our chat was that I am not alone. I am not the only one who has a weight problem, I am not the only one with insecurities, I am not the only one who worries about health, family and being happy.
The only difference is that people’s journeys maybe different – we all go down different roads to get to the same destination.
Some people get there quicker than others, some people take the long way round but, really, we all want the same thing. To be happy.
I know this may sound awful but knowing that there are people out their who have the same problems, issues, worries as me is a real big help. It helps me realise that I am not alone on this journey and there are so many other people who understand.
