Day 192

Sunday 10th July 2016

When I started this year I knew I wanted to lose weight. As I have done so many diets before I was willing to try anything new as with all the other diets I have always put the weight back on again. 

This time things are so different from all the other diets. At the beginning all I could eat was protein and fibre. I have always liked the taste of meat but fish and vegetables were a very big challenge. 

I found myself eating many foods I didn’t like. I would see the food that other people were eating and I just wanted to eat that and not what I had. 

I had to say to myself that it might not taste as nice but afterwards I would be happy because I would be full and glad that I didn’t give into temptation. I would never be totally satisfied though- I think it was because of the taste. 


I think taste is really important. You could be really full after a meal but not be totally satisfied if it doesn’t taste very nice. 

For months that is how I have felt about eating. I was eating because I had to not because I enjoyed it. I haven’t changed the food I am eating but I find now though that I really enjoy it. 

Yesterday I went to a BBQ and there was a lot of food to choose from. I find now though that I go for the meat and salad. I then left the bread, pasta, rice and desserts as I didn’t really want them.
