Medication

I have never been a person to take medication unnecessarily. If I had a headache I would tend to suffer with it than take pain relief.

I do however have to take thyroid medication every morning otherwise I get very tired. While being in Australia I lost my medication for 4 days and l am now tired because of it.

I always said to myself that I didn’t want to take medication when I go through the menopause and I have to say I was doing quite well up until 6 months ago.

In the last 6 months I haven’t had a full nights sleep as hot flushes got bad, but the worst thing was that it started to mess with me mentally.

So I went to see a doctor hoping he could give me something to relieve the symptoms. However, I was told that because I have had breast cancer I won’t be allowed to take the medication they usually prescribe. So I left with nothing.

It did make me feel very disheartened at the time. It’s left me to suffer in not so much silence!!!

I do know there are other options I can take but I won’t be able to do that until I return home from Australia.
