Diligence
Last night at Angela’s party I got talking to some of her guests. Some I have known for years but most I have met since being on this trip.
One person I spoke to was the pastor of my sister’s church. He was speaking the next day so I asked him what he was speaking on?
He spoke to me about the point “listen and obey”. He was using it in reference to Noah and how Noah had to listen to God when he asked him to build an ark and obey to keep building even through all the ridicule.
He then went on to say that Noah took 120 years to build the ark and a week later the rains came. He asked me “if it took 150 years to build the ark would the rains have held off until he had finished?” I said “yes”. He then went on to say “and if it took 90 years would the rains have come earlier?” I also said “yes”.
But the final question was really interesting – “What have we delayed God from doing because we haven’t been diligent to prepare?“
The amount of things I feel I should do but get so overwhelmed with are numerous. There always seems to be many obstacles and I get discouraged and stop all together.
What I got from this was that we need to keep striving for what we believe in. Believe in what God has told us. If you feel you should go for it then ignore all the obstacles because, if it’s of God, he will always make a way.
So, listen, be obedient and have the diligence to keep going!
