Being overweight can cause back problems. I have had a bad back for a long time. I can’t stand for long periods but it also means I can’t sit in the same position for long periods either.
When I get out of bed or off the sofa I struggle.
It would take me about 5 minutes to get off the sofa and then I couldn’t stand straight for another few minutes after that. I would walk funny and look a little deformed until my back straightened.
Lately though I have found that I haven’t had any issues I now seem to be able to jump up quickly without a bother.
It improved a while ago but I have only just noticed it. It’s funny how quickly you can forget the problems you used to get. Dec, one of my sons, said to me recently, “mum, you are looking good and you don’t take as much room on the sofa anymore!!”
I have also found that I can stand for longer too.
