Belonging
The world is an enormous place and if you were to mark on a map where you live it would look so small in comparison to the rest of the world.
I love my home. I actually live in the house I grew up in. But as a child the house belonged to my parents – it was to their tastes and desires.
Now, though, the house belongs to Matt and I. We have poured a lot of time and effort into transforming it, making it truly our own. It’s our own little haven.
Finding belonging in your own home is natural and easy. I am sure many people can relate to that. But what happens when we step beyond the comfort of your own home? Does the sense of belonging follow us?
I think it’s harder to find. You are more exposed and vulnerable when you are not protected by your own four walls.
While finding a sense of belonging beyond the comfort of home can be challenging, it’s also an opportunity to grow, connect, and discover new parts of ourselves. Perhaps belonging isn’t just about a place – it’s about the people, the experiences, and the connections we build wherever we go. And no matter where life takes us, we can always carry a little piece of home within us.
