A Place in this World
There is a saying “there’s a place for everything and everything in its place”. It’s a saying I believe but don’t necessarily obey as I’m not the tidiest person in the world!
Today has been a very exciting day as the trees for our patio have arrived. We watched them being transported off the lorry and taken to the place where they were to be planted.
Planting them took a while because we had to decide exactly where we wanted them, making sure they were straight and turned to the perfect angle.
It is so satisfying seeing them in the place where they will stay forever. It’s like they now have their own little place in this world.
In the past I have struggled to belong, but as that saying goes “there is a place for everything”, why can’t it relate to humans too?
Maybe finding our place isn’t as simple as planting a tree but the idea is the same. It takes time, patience, and a bit of adjustment to get it just right. Sometimes, we have to turn ourselves slightly, shift perspectives, or grow into the space we’ve been given.
For a long time, I felt like I didn’t quite fit, like I was searching for where I was meant to be. But just like those trees, we all have a place – we just have to find it. And when we do, when we finally feel settled, it’s as satisfying as seeing those trees standing tall, exactly where they belong.
